Hi,
I was looking at the engine in my t25 and noticed that someone has tipped the letters AEF on it.
It looks different to the pictures of the other Diesel engines of this era I’ve seen of pictures of T25’s.
Assume this is a replacement engine? - its gearing is very low but is strong, and not a puff of smoke.
Anyone know anything about these engines!
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Engine swop question
The AEF engine is a normally aspirated 1.9l diesel engine which is a relatively easy swop from a KY 1.7l or CS 1.6l
I installed one of these more than 10 years ago, and it has done 50K miles since without missing a beat.
Take a look at this thread on Brickyard, it should tell you all you need to know. https://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/1-6c ... page1.html
If you still have the original gearbox, you may find it a bit undergeared. I fitted a longer 4th gear and it's much better.

1.9D (AEF) pop-top. Aaaaahhhhh........that's better.
