AAZ upgrade turbo and realistic power

Hi guys I have a AAZ in bits that came with my van, I was going to rebuild it but looking at the turbo it’s a kkk-k03 which seems a bit small for the application. I don’t want to go mad but is about 110-120hp possible with a aaz and what turbo have others used I was looking at a t3 but struggling to find which one to go with. Thanks Tom

I'm very rusty on IDI engines, and had an SB not an AAZ.. but I remember there were some great communities such as the vwdiesel.net forum. I think ~120hp could be achieveable with more fuel and air and an intercooler. Fit an EGT gauge to keep an eye on it. Again I'm not an AAZ expert at all but I think is has some mechanical limitations to watch out for, do your own research. Big power can be had with more mods, but then you'd better better off starting with different engine maybe ?
