Sorry for all the questions but can the oil pump on a DG engine be removed without removing the crankshaft pulley?
I was going to change the gaskets but my pulley is tight on the crank and I don’t want to damage it trying to remove it.
I could just do the cover gasket and new nuts but will be annoyed with myself if it still leaks afterwards.
Thanks as always
Andy

I’ve edited the title to explain better what I mean. Thanks Andy

Re: Oil pump removal with pulley fitted??
The pulley has to come off in order to then remove the coolant bridge pipe which is in front of the oil pump cover.
No way round it. Are you sure that the leak isn't from the crank seal?

Thanks for your reply silverbullet.
I can remove the coolant pipe from behind the pulley on my engine and have done so whilst doing the coolant jacket seal.
If the oil pump is too deep to get out with the pulley on then I think I’ll just replace the cover gasket and the nuts and hope that does it. It only had a slight weep but thought I would do it whilst I had the engine out.

The crankshaft pulley is only torqued to 60nm. Clamp it with mole grips and put a 30mm socket and bar on it. Remove nut and washer.
Then wiggle off pulley prising with whatever you have. I use 12" tyre levers
