Doka 2.1i running lumpy then cuts out.

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Doka 2.1i running lumpy then cuts out.

Post by Doka89 »

Hi to all, I’m hoping someone can really help me out on here. I’m new to this forum so here goes.
I have a 2.1i t3 doka and recently had some issues with it running/not running. Basically just befor I was about to have it serviced by a friend of mine the expansion tank decided to explode and fire coolant everywhere in the engine bay. I’ve now had new parts for this including:
Coolant
Tank sensor
Thermostat
Thermostat housing
Both sensors with new o rings and clips
Radiator switch
But now the engine runs and then dies after so many minutes.
With the blue coolant sensor plug connected the engine runs this and smells very rich in petrol but as soon as I disconnect the plug the engine runs lovely with less of a smell of fuel, if I put my foot on the execrator the revs stay high at 1200-1300rpm
But if I connect the plug back into the sensor the engine just dies and then I have to start up again. I haven’t driven the van like this as I don’t thinks it’s a good idea to do so. I would be really grateful for any advice so I can get the old girl back on the road again. Thanks 🙏🏼

I would say the engine coolant sensor is dud , even if new.   put the old one back in.

I'd first check continuity of wiring from plug to ECU, wires break and the temp 2 sensor wire has a hard life above exhaust so it is possible wiring is damaged

wiring information on Syncrosport website if you don't have a BEntley or other decent schematic
