I can't help you with the breather pipe I'm afraid, but can offer some advice about the air intake....

The air intake will be VERY noisy without connecting it to some kind of silencer. This should be the flexible snorkel pipe rising up to the intake grille, but these pipes tend to have deteriorated and collapsed inside, resulting in restricted air flow. You might find a decent one, (yours might still be installed) or make something up out of plastic pipes and hoses like I did. Mine is still a bit noisy, but not too bad.
