Re: The SA 2.6i Microbus thread
Yes its very strange that the 91-94 k-jet 2.5i isn't listed.
Kai, your 1996 will be the same spec as my 1995: SA Motronic (no lambda, MAP sensor from 1Z Audi diesel, Golf 3 throttle pot, T4 2.5 efi plastic fuel rail, Audi 200 2-piece exhaust manifold with expensive stainless bellows connector etc etc
The engine is a real VAG parts bin job, with a bit of local market thrown in for good measure (air filter and inlet elbow being prime examples)

Managed to distress my crank locking tool as well, so that will need re-making sometime...
So I took the clutch off. Well here's a thing:
Maybe this is the original clutch after all?
Do you still have the part numbers for the clutch kit? My brother has a 2.6i overland kit in his US Vanagon and needs a clutch kit.

I’ve managed to source the correct clutch though.
Had to modify a Audi 200 exhaust manifold and had a stainless exhaust made up for it. It gets even worse though. Some schmuck has fitted a mega squirt ECU and had it mapped by the incompetent. I’ve owned it for 2 months now and it’s still not road legal. 2nd MOT next week and it’s supposed to be my daily driver. I’ve been commuting in my cheetah which is great fun but limited to 50MPH.
I’ve also replaced the AC compressor at a pretty sum. Every part on these is more or less a SA only part. I’ve also discovered most of the parts listed for this bus by brickwerks are not fit for purpose. Nothing has been easy with this bus. I regret not buying a European bus....
Do you still have the part number for the clutch kit. Mine is a 240mm disc. Thanks.

Re: The SA 2.6i Microbus thread
Sorry never had a kit. I had to get the friction plate re-lined and used the early ur-quattro cover (MC engine I think?)
Its long gone anyway, bus was parted out and sold it all years ago.
