Not really true. Using boiling water is an age old method for fitting window seals and works perfectly. Window seals will have water in the grooves the first day you go out in the rain anyway. They are not a perfect fit and never were, hence the rusty window surrounds we are all used to seeing!! 😁

Totally irrelevant answer to the original query so why perpetuate it?

Perhaps i should say nothing  , you dont seem to have any respect for my 35 plus years of owning this type of vehicle.

Perhaps you should say nothing.
It is irrelevant how long you have had this type of vehicle - what a crass statement. I don't have any respect for your attitude as a poster that can respond in a helpful manner to the query.
No wonder threads get bogged down with rubbish that bear no relation to the original question.

Any tips on fitting this. Or should I just go with no chrome seals? It’s a caravelle and it had them originally so I would prefer to have them.
Seals are from Alan Schofield
Any hints tips greatly appreciated!

I’ve just done the rear screen on mine , the rubber was from justkampers which was ok but the chrome insert from there wasn’t any good , I got another from Brickwerks which was 💯 better fit . I used the special fitting tool which is essential , I also use a heat gun on the chrome strip for the corners also essential in my opinion. Very fiddly job on the corners , use plenty of silicone spray on the rubber aswell . Fiddly job but if you have all the gear and patience it’s do able at home . Good luck

This arguing not doing the forum any good. This sort of thing can scare people off and stop others trying to help. I am locking this thread.
