Rocker Covers

Post by Che »

Want to replace my rocker covers and seen on JK that there's an aluminium bolt on set, is there any difference with fitting these? Or is just to make the engine look nice?

TIA

What would you bolt them to. As T3s use clips.

Clean your originals and repaint them, most aftermarket ones leak

JK are selling bolt on ones for a T3, that's why I asking. Only going to change them if needed, the seals need replacing as a very slight oil leak on one.

I have bolt-on rocker covers on my 1.9DG, While they don't leak I do intend to go back to the spring clip ones as they are just much easier to service/remove and very easy, cheap and quick to swap out the gasket. I would suggest just getting a couple of gasket sets in and keeping what you have.

Did you check price and availability of the bolt up gaskets ?

You put an extended nut on the rocker carrier and they bolt to those.

Well, every day is a school day. I can't say I have come across that being done. I can't see why anyone would bother though, TBH.

I only did it because I happened to have the set and thought I would try them out. But I wouldn't buy a set.
