Spare wheel carrier
I need to find out the depth of a standard wheel carrier. Does anyone have one knocking about they could measure for me? Thanks.

Re: Spare wheel carrier
The wheel carrier dish is the same in standard and larger versions, its the bolt bracket at the front that is different to make it hang lower to take a fatter wheel, the shaped rods are also different shape and length.

Re: Spare wheel carrier
Both carrier's have different part numbers do you know if the number is stamped on them? Or how to identify one from the other apart from having both side by side to visually see the difference of the bolt bracket.

Re: Spare wheel carrier
They dont have numbers stamped on them, the different part numbers are only because of the extended bolt bracket , you could just extend your bracket and the rods would have to be changed or modified for the fatter wheel. I cut a bracket off a rusty big wheel carrier so i can fit that to my standard carrier in the future.

Thanks. I don't have the equipment to do any of that, so I will keep searching for a factory one with the brackets.
