Rain X Screen Wash?

Post by Che »

Need to get some screen wash and was looking at the Rain -X with rain repellent .

Does it actually work or is it just Snake Oil?

I have been using rainx for many years , but never used the screen wash one, always used the one you wipe on the screen once every six weeks , it works a treat, especially on the t25 with its ability to hit the wind , the wipers are hardly needed above 20 mph . Can’t think the screen wash is going to be much different , but i dont actually know

Thanks Steve for that, hadn't looked at that option.

what's it actualy doing though.

You spray it and it gets wiped off with a bunch of wet water very quickly, no real time for it to have much effect.

Unlike wipe on RainX that you wipe on and leave it to dry creating a film repelant layer.

Curious..

I just buy 25L concentrated -15C stuff for £27 and it will do all the family vehicles for a year..

That was my thinking behind the post

Wipe on to get the repellent layer, makes sense then as you said, the screen wash can't build up too much of a layer, unless the theory is that you don't use much of the screen wash so a layer will build up?
