Ive got some dipping Cibies that I will run off relays linked to the original wiring for switching. However rather than run a large live all the way back to the engine battery by the engine, it occured to me that it would be easier to go to the leisure battery under the seat.. Any reasons why not?
Should mention its a day van so very little draw off the leisure battery normally

Re: Running Cibie spotlights off leisure battery.
As you will be using them presumably only when you are driving, and you have a working split charge setup, then technically not a problem! You already have a sufficient connection from the alternator via the split charge to the leisure battery anyway. Personally, I would label the wire at the both ends for future reference, my grey cells are failing with age, so in 10 years time when you have a problem you will know where the wiring for the cibies is! I am an electronics engineer by trade and my pet hate is poorly labelled wiring!

If they are like front fogs, look up the wiring for the fusebox and run a wire to the relevant fuse/plug.
