Drove the van to work today to give it a run out and charge the batteries a bit. Started to hear a knocking sound. Could describe it as more towards a clanging sound than a clunk, slightly higher note like exhaust metai clanging sound (but no exhaust blowing noise). Seemed to follow acceleration, it gets faster and quieter as I speed up, it didn't seem to match rotation of wheels in any way though. Emanating from rear left / LHD drivers side or maybe engine. Could just about hear a tick or rattle when ticking over.
Possibly on a right hand turn but would need to drive it a bit more to confirm. Planning to drive home 18m.
I've been reading some of the threads around CV joints/play and checking bolts...

Re: Knocking / clanging sound
Thanks, I'll check. It was completely fine on the way home.
I did wonder if if could have been something to do with brakes sticking, I deliberately braked hard just before parking up on the journey in.
