Hi All,
I am currently getting some improvement jobs planned over the winter.
The first one will be a full overhaul of the gear selector and linkages. Like many others, the gear change is terrible but the box is good. I am looking to see what parts I will need, if somebody could kindly offer a list or a link?
ok, some details that may help:
- 89 RHD Leisuredrive pop-top
- 094 5 speed 3H gearbox
- Subaru EJ20 powered
Any help on this would be really appreciated. I would rather do all of the components at each end, rather than chance having to revisit it. It will be a bit awkward as my spare wheel well has an LPG tank in it, which I will have to drop off.
Anyway, TIA.
Cheers
Gear Shift Overhaul

Re: Gear Shift Overhaul
when the engine conversion was done was the petrol 5 speed gearbox mount and the complete petrol rear linkage used ? Which engine mount was used ?
Brickwerks do a kits for refurbishing the gear linkage 4 and 5 speed versions available, the 5 speed gearstick often needs refurbishing too and depending on wear the guides under the gearstick may need replacing

The conversion was done before my ownership but the engine mount, bell-housing and other components look to all be by RJES. There is definitely wear at the gearstick end, as it can pop out of the gates but still be in gear. In fact, I suspect most of the wear is at the gearstick end. I will probably need to have a look under, to assess what gearbox mount is on it. I have seen the kits that are available and was gonna go down that route, just want ensure that I get the correct ones
