Smoking after seal change

Post by glennyboy2 »

1.6td jx. Bosch pump.
Ive just replaced the throttle shaft seal and eventually got it all back together and running. But it’s now smoking whereas it didn’t before. Any suggestions as to where to start looking?
Thanks.

If you didn't change anything else when renewing the seal, then it would be logical that something with what you did has changed a setting. Just about the only thing that could have changed is that the arm was refitted in a different position on the spindle. You could try refitting it rotating by one spline and see if that cures it.
1.9D (AEF) pop-top. Aaaaahhhhh........that's better.
