Cheers Toby - I have just ordered something similar from Amazon - 100m for £6 next day(2 rolls). They sell it as slug tape, but I have made sure they state the adhesive is conductive. Will let you know the results.

Should the two tracks circled be connected? When I test continuity using my multimeter it beeps??

Ignoring them for now - what is going on with the two white wires? The two tracks at the bottom of them appear to be shorted.
Frankly it looks a mess at present, too much solder and not enough flux on clean copper.

I wouldn't use single core wire if it isn't secured, in a vehicle it will vibrate and eventually work harden and fail.

Despite appearances they aren’t shorting - I agree it looks a mess . I was worried about re soldering anything as the heat was melting the backing. I will source some multi strand wire and try again. Would be good to understand the question around the two tracks in question though. Thanks for the reply

I have been looking at various options for repairing the foil, came across this via a discussion on the Samba

Pricey, but if it works without any changes, will last out how long we are going to be running these vans, depends whether they have any in stock, there are options

They don't appear to do late model foils. I can't see a turbo diesel with rev counter

To be fair to the guy he has been around VW's for donkeys years and provides a good service( I been to see him and buy bits on more than one occasion) - some of the prices do seem a bit all over the place .

For example:
"Diesel T3 T25 Rev Counter with pod - just the rev counter and housing - You can see it the wiring to the rev counter is broken - plug fallen off and taped to the unit - sold as just a Rev counter - untested item - £249"

So £250 for the pod, damaged foil/plug and a rev counter(untested).

Yea, that's fair. I wasn't looking too closely at the prices to be honest, as sometimes/occasionally a bargain can be made.

Avoid the SHC replacement - bag of sh*te  I've bought several of their products all of which have failed. Their customer service is 'excellent' and new products are despatched immediately, however I'd rather their products weren't naff in the first place.
What baffles me, is the number of comments I've seen on Facebook groups where others have praised SHC, mostly for their after sales service. What am I missing?  In my simple world of being a purchaser, I'd imagined it would be better if they sold fit for purpose products first time around.  Perhaps I'm wrong!

Brickwerks are now in bed with SHC.If there are any, I think Simon will soon spot inferior parts should he stock them. Can't say I have purchased anything from SHC so cannot comment on their quality.

Bought a headlight upgrade kit from SHC beginning of Oct, looks very well made indeed and at a fair price - still yet to fit it though
Mate of mine bought the diesel version as his battery is in the engine bay, he fitted it no problem and it dramatically improves the lights....he's well happy with the quality and price.
As with all suppliers there is going to be good and bad parts.
I do agree though, with Brickwerks now in the mix...it can only be a good thing.
