Unidentified Wiring loom connector.

Post by garyd »

I have eventually had to resort to removing all the dash to replace the heater fan motor. As I am putting it together I have found a connector which I cannot find a home for.

It is a three blade connector and branches from the loom which also has the radio connections. It has a blue wire, a red wire to the centre blade and two brown leads sharing the third blade.

The vehicle was originally a turbo-diesel powered syncro from 1990, if that makes a difference.

I'll try to get a decent photo but in the meantime, does anyone recognise it, please?

That sounds like the cigar lighter plug.

Red - Battery live.
Brown - Ground
Blue - Illumination
Although illumination is usually grey with a blue stripe.
1983 Tin Top with a poorly DF and 4 speed DT box.
1987 Electrics and a DJ engine.
Maybe one day I might get it finished

Thanks for that suggestion. It is a possibility since I have fitted new cigar & USB sockets on bew wiring.

Is the plug you're thinking of a 'three in a line' format - like I I I ?

Yes it is...

Just checked the wiring diagram, and it confirms my suggestions.
