Relais cooling fan

Post by drewdavis »

Hello everyone. The relay for the stage 2 radiator fan is missing on my car. According to the wiring diagram, the standard relay contacts should be in the following terminal positions: 86 to 4 85 to 6 30 to 2 87 to 8

However, the pins are not in the correct positions on the standard relay. See the picture.

Am I seeing this wrong?

I don't know which bit of Bentley you are looking at, but our 2nd stage relay and fuse) is on a separate relay holder above and behind the main fuseboard on the A pillar
use the appropriate wiring diagram for your vehicle from Syncrosport website, in English, you should find that easier

The second stage relay position depends on the engine and which cooler fan was used.
TurboDiesels, 2.1 petrols and some 1.9 petrols had the 450 or 500W fan which had the relay with a strip fuse on a separate bracket on the A pillar above the fuse panel

I am so used to working on Syncros, which are late vans and have the larger fans so I am not familiar with all the variants so apologies if I am steering you wrong on position of 2nd stage relay position
