CSP exhaust disapointment !!!!

Post by Urge38 »

What a let down!!!
I was so looking forward to having a CSP exhaust in my new to me T25
I paid my money, twice the price of every other exhaust on the market, waited 3 odd weeks, and then it arrived,
It looks lovely

ONLY IT DOES NOT FIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a fabricator, I have my own workshop where I mig, tig, machine, even grind my own multi fluted end mills on my tool and cutter grinder, etc etc etc

I would hope I know how to fit a exhaust lol

but this thing is simply made wrong!!!!

and what's worse is there is no need for it, its not like there is something in the way it it needs to be like this.

the N/S front cylinder downpipe is hard up against the left side cylinder head,
Id have to bend or cut my pushrod guard to get it to fit and they NEVER mentioned that you will have to run a micro oil filter (it was supplied) but I dont want that tbh

the pipe is hard up against the head, the whole length of the cylinder head!!!

if anyone can help me/tell me how to upload photos, Id like to add some of the fitment

Is that the python exhaust? Does look like a nice bit of kit but cannot justify the price. Id expect them to be made without faults..
Never fitted one but with the speedshop exhausts if I recall you have to swap the oil filter for a shorter one, that brickwerks sell.

if there is any modifications needed, inc a smaller oil filter, I would have expected to be informed so I could make my decision.

its a lovely exhaust, the bends are superb, I should know, ive done a lot of tube bending myself,
but unfortunately cant except a touching exhaust

will post pics in a minuet

Photo two shows how it is hard up against the head, in other photos it looks like there is a bit of a gap but there is not

It seems odd they have not been made aware of this problem by other buyers. You cannot be the only one.

cant see many people having bought these for the issue to get back to them,

Blimey that doesn't seem very good, I'd send them some pictures of that because that just seems like someones messed up somewhere. It certainly close to the head huh, Id expect that to just be a fit and forget kit and not having to mess around with things, maybe they just got the angle wrong on that one and you got unlucky.. but I'd assume they be made from a pattern?

It's one off them, the mind boggles moments

There is absolutely no need either side to come close to the heads

When you look at the amount off bends just before the collector, it's not like CSP don't know how to bend pipe

What was they thinking

I am with you on this, it's not a one off, there jig is wrong

I didnt get unlucky as such, as everything lines up at the head perfectly, no straining needed if I wanted to bolt it all up

It's just made mega maga close to the head

At £1,300 I will definitely be sending it back

I also don't fancy running a one inch oil filter without them advertising that I'd need to

My mate has one on his fitted fine, I wonder if
You were to bolt it up would it move away from the head , still pretty close but it’s a hidden exhaust so I expect there’s some compromise

all bolt holes are lining up perfectly, ive held it hard into place so it was not on a tilt or anything,

its definably made bad

I wonder if your mate might be kind enough to share a photo or five of his and its clearance???

I fitted one a few years ago on a 2.5 build, it was close but the pushrod guards still fitted ok.
It suggests that someone has made a booboo because they must be made off the same jig as before, unless they have outsourced the manufacture to someone cheaper who is working to pattern parts or drawings with errors. It happens.
