Fitting tight hose over brake / clutch reservoir

Post by simonmarsh »

Dear all,

Apologies for the title - and the (probably) daft question. I have recently changed the clutch master cylinder (again) and clutch hose with new (from Brickwerks - no issue with quality) and am struggling to get the new rubber hose fully over the connections, especially at the reservoir, as I'm wary of snapping off / damaging the connection (the recently fitted clutch master cylinder broke at the connection - that was fitted by a local garage).
I have tried hot water and also a hair dryer to soften the hose, even a very small amount of 3 in 1 oil - still struggling.
Any advice please?
many thanks.
