Just bought my first T25...should I panic at the challenge?

Post by tinytoessize4 »

Hi there 👋

Just bought what has turned out to be a project camper....a 1985 T25.

Exciting times eh?

Well....not sure where to start with it. Bodywork is sound and rust free. Waxoiled underneath all tickety boo there.

The inside though. Rustic.

I'm loving the Optimus hob and hot plate. And the square sink. Haven't tried any electrics out yet as batteries are flat as a pancake so thinking I'll need them replacing?!

But I'm really confused by the shower cupboard. I say shower cupboard as it is a shower. In a cupboard. Not sure whether I should take it out or replace it or well what really. I've never seen a cupboard shower. Wondering whether I could change it to a toilet and use a wheel arch shower tray maybe?

And the fridge. What's with the fridge? I haven't seen a fridge like that since 1988. Nor do I know what to do with the rock and roll bed with lethal hand cutters....and should I try and put a bed in the high top?

Lots of questions. Not many answers so any help would be appreciated.

Thank you 😊😊

I think you'll just need to get creative. Everybody likes their camper differently, so I won't try to tell you what to do. Go camping, figure out what you like and don't like. Make some changes, do some camping etc etc.

If you are unsure, start easy (like changing the batteries, giving it an oil change etc). You'll built confidence quicker than you'd think. I would advise you to check all connections in your system though, to make sure there are no fire hazards.

Have fun!
