So, wipers are going no problem then suddenly they stop in the middle of the windscreen. It was only spitting so I made it home. No problem with the fuse. When I turn the key they make a slight move but nothing more. Any ideas? Cheers.

Re: Wipers stopped working
It cannot be a jammed linkage, because I am sure that would cause a fuse to blow.
And as it is both wipers, not just one, we can rule out a loose spindle nut.
Only two potentials in my mind are
a tired motor, or
a dirty / loose earth.
Something causing the motor to not have enough ooomph.

Re: Wipers stopped working
Thanks, I'll check the earths in the morning, makes sense because it was a sudden end with no sign of struggling first. I reckon I hexed it because going into work I thought, van's running nice.

I had the conector block on the steering column come off a touch once, the one on the stalks if you can picture it?
Longshot but worth checking.

Re: Wipers stopped working
I think it's the motor. Got the multimeter out and checked wiring and relay, no problems, then I touched the motor and it was hot just off the ignition being on.
On a plus side there's a few bits I can do with the dash out. Thanks all

Re: Wipers stopped working
Dashboard screws near windscreen are sometimes seized due to rust, worth soaking with plus gas night before removing.

Re: Wipers stopped working
It's been out recently, sheer bolts have been swapped for regular. Got the new motor so it's a job for next weekend.
