So , bit of an update,
My throttle linkage wasn't far away when fitting the weber, so I've improved on my first , test piece, with something a little more refined.
There was a small spring with the unit. But that shot off somewhere during the fitting process and have been unable to locate, but luckily I found something similar, all be it , with a bit more tension. Which I believe was off a mondeo rear caliper handbrake assembly.
Anyway. ....
Initial start seemed OK...until it came off auto choke , then died and was a real pain to get it running.
But , I did manage to set the mix and idle once warm and seemed to have quite a bit more grunt than the pict 5 on the df manifold.
However....
Tried a cold start today, and auto choke did not want to engage. Tried the old , press the pedal, loads of times but no joy. But once it warmed up , with manual pedal feathering, it ran OK.
So I've been investigating that mech and the adjustment screws that might assist. Something to do with the vac high idle , fighting the auto choke.....possibly.
Oh yes,
Discarded the old square filter box for the oval substitute, binned off the vac tubes in this area , and the little valve box. And patched the ductwork together to get the feed in the rear pillar.
At times it felt like a fat ferrari , during my fiddling process, so I know I still need to tune it more,
Whether or not I go as far as swapping emulsion tubes and jets ......the tuning process will determine.

Cheers
