What have I lost?

Post by therealchrisgray »

Looking over my new-to-me van today, I'm a bit concerned at what I found. Front passenger side (LHD) hub seems to be missing a bit. I had new bearing fitted in Spain recently, drove it a thousand km, and then it sat on a ferry in the salt spray for two days.

Any suggestions? Please!

Dust caps often don't clear the centre bore of aftermarket alloys...but if you have one on the nearside (which drives the speedo) then it should fit ok.

Ouch! Thanks for that. Before I spend four whole pounds on a part that might not fit (plus p+p to Tenerife!) any suggestions as to how I could check? Is it just a case of measuring across the hole in the middle and checking against the dimensions of the part?

When I say measure, I mean with a tape. No fancy tools in my toolbox.

As said, if the other side is intact then a new cap should fit where the missing one was.
