Hi all, I’m sure in the past I saw some sliding door rollers made to reduce noise when I’m opening the door.
I just can’t remember where ?
any help appreciated,
I think there have been threads on the samba detailing experiments with cut down skate wheels and self adhesive plastic to cover roughness in the tracks. Nothing wildly successful though. I’m not sure super smooth bearings would counteract 30+ yr old rough tracks. I know my lower track has a couple of holes in it…
Have you ever seen an unhappy fool?

Go Westy do them with a delrin roller rather than a steel one; I guess Campervanculture sell them (or used to ?) but I can't find them on their website because it is absolute "pooh" and you can't use part search on it and Google doesn't help much either, which is why I don't buy from them. Jed seldom comes on here anymore so probably easiest to hit him up on whatsapp or the like like the hip dudes do
I have plaatic big rollers. My Father turned them on his lathe back a few years ago.
It is hard to tell, but the new metal rollers from BW might were a bit quieter.
BTW it is a late system with smooth tracks well greased.
I think I shared the drawing pdf here before.
Cannot find it now, but here is in the topic on Samba: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewt ... 46bf4d8078
