Hi everyone, I'm loving getting to grips with my new van (devon eurovette 86)
Only thing currently on the van that doesn't seem to work is the propex heater.
Gas is good, the ignition switch tries to click on for several seconds and then stops, before trying again on repeat.
I believe a blower should also activate at this point in order to help ignite the heater flame?
Am I correct in thinking due to lack of use perhaps the blower fan is seized and the grease has maybe dried up? I was thinking get some compressed air in the intake amd give it a good clear out of debris perhaps. Along with some lubricant?
Ps very hard to access to thinking I may need to take it off the mount.
Any thoughts most welcome!

Have you tried it with the engine of the van running ?
I have limited knowledge of the propex but under voltage maybe a issue

Sadly no luck. New leisure battery too! Who looks at these items? Mechanics? Plumbers!?

Have you got the manual for it ? The old red ones used to show fault codes by flashing the light

Is it the red Compact 1600? You can download user instructions and fault solving.
Try the rocker switch on just cold air to see if fan spins. If it does, then rotate control dial to maximum red and try again; as Mocki suggests, with engine running and check battery voltage when switched on to heater setting.
Propex need a healthy 12.6v to run. So a top condition leisure battery is best.
I bought a 'seized' propex many years ago. Took it apart and noted one fan blade touching against the outer surrounding collar. Gently bent collar back. Gave it 12 volts and has been working fine in my camper for 5 years.
