Hi all,
Just fitted a stainless exhaust and silencer to my 88 DG and forgot to put the tin ware back in place first
Just thinking is it really needed or could I just leave it out?
Look forward to your comments

Tinware is not 100% necessary. Pushrod covers to prevent damage from road debris is recommended, though.

Thanks for the reply. The push rod covers are in place it's just the rear long section that I forgot to fit before the exhaust

Yep the tank was sitting on the top but I could attach it another way. If you really think I should fit it though then I'll just have to remove the exhaust again

Oh! That part. I thought you meant left and right shields. Yes, as Mocki comments. It's a heat shield. Take off silencer and put shield back on.

Silencer off, heat shield adapted to suit engine bearer bracket with angle grinder and two slots!
Heat shield now ion place and exhaust fitted. Quite a job getting it to fit so glad that's done with but now I've found an oil leak from the oil filler which was a new one with new gasket as well
Job for next week now!
