Boom! It's out. Now just rebuilding the calliper.
Im using the repair kit and what is the purple paste for? Is it to go on the outside of the piston to hwlp it slide in? Would that not affect the brake fluid?

The grease is for when you slide the piston in. It won't affect the brake fluid. Make sure you remove that crud from around the hole.

Well it's in now anyway and I have cleaned up and painted the calliper. I will fit it back on tomorrow or Friday and then hopefully get the brake fluid back in at the weekend.

Any job on these vans that does not cause you to lose a night's sleep is a good cause for celebration.

Or am I being cynical.?
1983 Tin Top with a poorly DF and 4 speed DT box.
