Yep. Marcos EFI is too extravagant for me.
The pound to dollar rate, and postage doesn’t help either.

Then I assume import tax.

Pretty much a non-starter unless we can get a few of us that want one, and negotiate a discount Image

What has me thinking is apart from the cost. What happens if part of the Marco kit goes wrong at some point.

I did also look at the Marco Mansi kit as an option, the ECU looks like an off the shelf microsquirt (MS) unit so I don't see a problem with future proofing.  As long as map/tune saved somewhere just in case.  There's a few really good MS folk around to support, rolling road map if needed (eg http://baileyperformance.co.uk/), repair etc.  It's a 'tinkery' community that lines up well with us T3 folk, lol.

The key issue will be making it possible to identify the part numbers (and ideally doner car source) of all the off the shelf bits in the kit that could be a problem in the future (ie sensors, COPs etc)  then you are in no worse situation than owning any other T3.  From the website it looks like it uses Bosch parts where possible.  I've not come across the Spartan Wideband controller but i'd assume it could be swapped out for an innovate, AEM etc if it crapped out, and just tweak the selection in tunerstudio.

My previous 'fun car' was an NA MX5, I turboed it about 8-9 years ago, ran it on on an older Microsquirt based MS in kit form from Diyautotune in the US, never had any issues at all with the ECU or tune and would happily use again.  Daily driver, passed MOT, drove 'OEM-like' and that's with double the standard power (Garett T28, 650cc injectors, Toyota COPS etc).

Honestly the the EJ25 is just an itch I want to scratch, also I have 3 kids under 6 so i'm getting a lot of pressure to get the van back and usable...If a suitably priced doner hadn't come up I would be sticking with the DJ - it had more than enough grunt for trips last year.

Would be interesting to see what off the shelf parts that kit of Marco has, I know the sensor in the plenum is a bosch one. But not sure on the mods to the throttlebody. I assume the injectors are easy enough, pulley has to be machined for trigger wheel, or you could do it differently, I think speedshop does a pulley with a trigger built in... I think the kit uses a different fuel pressure regulator no idea on a part code for that.

They do sell a 'get me home' kit, which I assume is bulk of components.
Not seeing fuel pressure regulator or throttle body in there though.

From the pictures it looks like it's a generic OEM fitment Bosch mini regulator in a custom housing.  Pretty common off the shelf parts, on loads of VAGs.   These are the 'motorsport' ones (inc an adjustable):  https://www.bosch-motorsport.com/conten ... 52523.html

At one point I was close to getting a Subaru doner that would have needed aftermarket reg (later years) so was planning on going this route (ie with an OEM fitment Bosch 3bar insert and ebay sourced housing, rather than an adjustable regulator from a 'motorsport' brand).

Had a chat with SubaruSurgery who have pulled the engine from the doner I found and are modifying loom this week so my enthusiasm for sorting the DJ is dropping rapidly.  I was in a tinkering mood so went back over the usual ECU resistance/voltage checks from the plug and all Injectors are in resistance spec, pulled the Cyl3/4 injectors and spray pattern is great.

I've got an itch again to faff around with stuff like that so might end up collecting some DJ injection stuff again as I sold the throttlebody and AFM, although I think with a more modern setup the afm can be replaced, I think.. Does appeal to get more power and better fuel economy.
Although I think ill sort the syncro bits out first..when got space at the workshop.

Maybe alternate modern throttlebodies could work?

Events are overtaking themselves....conversion bellhousing etc is arriving from RJES tomorrow so my enthusiasm has dipped, likely going to drain and pull the engine Fri/Sat so I can get on with prepping gearbox and bay.  I won't do a sale ad until replacement engine arrives (hopefully early next week).

Yeah, get rid of the AFM and just use MAP from manifold and a IAT in intake.   The T3 already has the extended D shaft, so pick an off the shelf TPS that fits, plenty of space to make up an adaptor plate.  Main benefit of a more modern TB could be using one with built in ISV to eliminate the need for that elsewhere.  Down the Megasquirt rabbithole...
