I am based in Ireland and did the M.O.T equivalent back in November and got a number of mechanical issues including some rust. I got the rust sorted and got the van back last week so now I'm looking at addressing the mechanical issues. Some of these issues I understand and feel confident in tackling myself e.g replacing break lines. Some of the mechanical issues are based around the steering and axels I'm just looking for suggestions on what I might need to order based on yere experience. My main concern is I struggle with some of the names of the items on the list as they seem vague and when I do a search on the Internet I could get 10 different things , for example what is the 'Steering gear casing attachment' and where could I find it? There is nothing apparently loose to me when I nose about the steering column.
Any helpnor suggestions here is really appreciated. Thanks again
Thanks folks, any suggestions are really appreciated. The tests aren't done in a garage it's done in a test centre, after you fail the test you can then go to any garage and they do the work before you go back to the test centre. It's a head melt, but it also means you have no one to ask what exactly some of their faults relate to.
So ball joints must go on the shopping list and a boot for one, that's handy enough.
I will find the bevel box and see what's the story there as well and order bushings. Thanks folks.

Anything else that stands out just let us know. I
The boot and ball joint fail will be fixed by a new ball joint with new boot already fitted , no need to order an extra boot
There aren’t any bushes in the bevel box to replace , if you pull off the lower front grille you will see the bevel box and the bolts to te k condition, im not 100% certain it’s that but it’s the only thing it sounds like

Perfect, I was wondering that earlier actually when I was pricing up ball joints. I will get a chance tomorrow or Friday to go up to the van and spend some time going over it to see things like what brake lines etc I need to order and I will check for the bevel box then as well. Thanks a lot
