Identification of part t25 engine compartment

Post by leeips »

Hi everyone. Upon taking the fuel tank out to replace it, i noticed a line, running along the chassis from the front end under the dash to the rear engine compartment, to the pictured component.  At first i thought it was brake line or something as it looked corroded, but then saw it joined to plastic pipe on both ends.  For the life of me i cant see what the part is it services?  I assume as it leads to the dash area, it may be a sensor of speed/pressure/acceleration, sensor gauge??
Please educate me accordingly.

If you’re referring to that rusty thing in the middle of the picture it’s the clutch slave

Guess the clutch has never been bled by the looks of it.
Time for a new cylinder.
Horrible job to do.
Those plastic lines are actually clear.

Get some waxoly in there.

I've just done my slave cylinder and it was ok if you do it all in the right order. Smaller hands would have been useful though.

Yea its just very fiddly.
Done mine last summer and getting the bolts was a PITA.

Looking at the OP he needs that cleaned up an plus gassed before any spanner is let near it.
