Looks like maybe the disi is 071 905 205 part number which is from the Aircooled 2 litre CU engine, so maybe a bit of a bitsa 'special' installation, not that unusual

DF disi is 025 905 205 B or G suffix, DG is same part number suffix C or J  (there are others too I think)

I'm not sure how to move the thread to mech. But happy to do so if it's me to do.

The search would still bring it up for people.
Yes I'm no plumber, but I've resorted to diy on more that one occasion. But the rothenburger was purchased for car jobs to start with 🤣 I tend to go a bit mad with the solder as I've had em not take before.

Glad you think it's OK. Wasn't too bad as did it on a bench on a vice. Worse when it's under the bath.

I will still be investigating getting a stainless one made up. But will hit it with some brasso tomorrow to make it shine.

I'll confirm the dizzy code. Would have been handy if it was a done job! Looking for easy wins!

Any ideas on the head code ending in c ? Image

I can confirm that you are right. The bottom number defo looks like 071 905 205...pics were garbage ..

I'll keep my eye out for a c or j . Funds permitting.

Guessing this is unlikely to produce performance gains but more of an enabling manoeuvre.

The head code is critical, otherwise it might as well stay as it is.

Cheers

Steve

Your head code looks to be DG with larger inlet ports.

The, letter would be B apparently, if smaller ports for a DF.

My DG engine also had a Solex carb and manifold on it when I bought it. I bought and rebuilt a Pierburg carb and for the money spent, the power difference it made was incredible. It's one for the to-do list IMO.

You had a lot of plumbing to alter too though, I assume?

I did it. The difference is worth it, but definitely go in eyes open.
Would you agree?

Definitely an eyes wide open situation Smiffo as with most situations with these machines. :D

I had to go back to the relevant section of my rebuild thread to remember how I had re-plumbed the Pierburg in. It needed a couple of hoses alright but luckily an engine I bought for parts had a DG manifold with the right hose. Sometimes you need a bit of luck. viewtopic.php?t=166488&start=240

Your journey is more aligned to the original post too - early cooling system.

Well done. :ok
