Distributor dumb question

Post by Smiffo »

I have this DJ specific distributor. The dumb question is if the metal shroud around the cap is important, functional, and if it needs to be retained?

I will be changing rotor arm and cap before using it so curious before I buy replacements

it's there for a reason (RF interferance with ECU), it's the cheapest solution as it is reuseable, it just sits on top of the standard disi cap. Otherwise you'd use the expensive cap with the black plastic and metal shield built in that were fitted to late MV disis
