ATF cooler?

ATF cooler?
I have a 1989 petrol auto campervan. Had a high pitched whine coming from the gearbox & it’s been caused by failure of the ATF cooler, the gearbox specialist can repair the gearbox but need a replacement ATF cooler. I’ve tried VW heritage & brickworks but they don’t have any. I’m aware that go westy in California do a kit that replaces the unit but does anyone know of a uk/eu suppler with stock?
Re: ATF cooler?
I have several S/H ones if that's any help.

Re: ATF cooler?
Hi Rob, that could be very helpful thanks!
Is there any way of testing them to check they are ok? Sorry, I’m new on here but -?how come you have them? I’m guessing you salvage old vans?
Many thanks.

Re: ATF cooler?
I'm not a breaker. But I have collected various parts over the years. I have no idea how you would test one. Maybe your mechanic knows. I would be interested in finding out as I have never heard of one failing.

Re: ATF cooler?
Thanks Rob,
My mechanic says can’t see you you could test to check a S/H one was ok. We are assuming mine has failed as there is water in the gearbox & the ATF cooler is the only source we can think of. (The van has not been through a flood)
I saw on one of your earlier posts that you have fitted the go westy one to yours? Did you have any problems fitting it & as it been good?
Cheers,
Phil

Re: ATF cooler?
I have a couple I know are good, as I have taken them off gearboxes that failed for other reasons than water mixing with the oil. The go-westy one I have was a doddle to fit and I have had no problems with it. Luckily, one of our members managed to get his son to bring it to the UK for me as the price of getting it through customs would have added a fair bit to the cost.

Re: ATF cooler?
That’s good to know, many thanks Rob. I’ll speak with the gearbox company & see what they think the best solution might be.

Re: ATF cooler?
Hi Rob,
How much would you want for one of your S/H units? & any idea of cost of sending to Essex?
Thanks for your help.

Re: ATF cooler?
Thanks Rob,
I’d like to take that option, I’ve sent you a private message with my number. I thought it might be easier to speak & arrange payment etc.
Thanks for your help
