Jx air intake ducting

Post by pierce »

I have been running my van without any of the clean air ducting and snorkel connected to my air filter, it’s never seem to have done any harm, but wonder if it’s contributing to a bit of smoke on steep motorway hills.

I am off to the alps in a couple of weeks so thought it might be a good time to find a replacement for the missing bits of ducting.

https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/t3-parts/e ... icone.html

I have the snorkel and the expensive silicone ducting but I am missing the elbow and bit of ducting that connects to the air box, shown in the picture in the link above.

Does anyone know where I could get the two missing bits.

Thanks in advance

I doubt it will reduce smoke, but it will make your van a whole lot quieter!

That’s interesting, always just assumed it was just to give you colder air.
A bit less noise would be good.

German webshops have the flexi parts in OE design, or you can make them from agricultural suction hoses.
The elbow part you should source second hand.

Thanks good idea, I will ring around tomorrow and see if I can get one of those elbows.

Failing that I have seen a post on the samba where a flexi tube was used https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewt ... p?t=708866

I was also just looking at some generic silicone and aluminium hoses

Might be able to cobble something together.
