New exhaust system
Hi bit of a daft question, but just purchased a whole new exhaust system off Just Kampers and every part has a sticker saying paint needs removing and then repainting with vht paint. Will this need shot blasting to remove the paint or can I buy a paint stripper and rub it down? Bit annoyed as wasn't expecting to have to do this

You don't have to do anything, the paint will just burn and flake off. It will look awful but there's no real functional issue.
It's an incredibly poor show that they are making and selling this junk - Saving them about £15 over them using an actual suitable heat resistant paint but costing the customer a full day of grief. It's a bizarre way to do business.

I agree, very pissed off it turned up like this. Gonna give them a ring in morning and will probably end up returning it,no doubt at my expense

Best use just krappers as a last resort when buying parts.

If, in my business I was forced to sell something to a customer that would take them hours of dirty, unpleasant work to make it fit for purpose, rather than just put a sticker on it (entirely to stop the complaints after the paint flakes off) I'd definitely personally spend a few minutes explaining to them why this was the best I could supply to them, and apologising for how "pooh" the situation was.

Whats the problem. If you bought a mild steel exhaust, that's how they come, even the original VW ones. Brickworks sell the same mild steel JP exhausts.

I don't understand they they aren't aluminised like OE exhausts and every other aftermarket exhaust part.
Even the very cheapest garbage aftermarket stuff for end of life hatchbacks that looks like it's been formed by running it over with a forklift doesn't come in poundland grey primer!

Why would you expect to buy a Poundland exhaust with millionaires finish on it , can’t buy the cheapest option and expect the highest quality
