Spacer/Gasket Carb to Manifold

Is the large spacer cum gasket between the carburettor body and the manifold fitted dry.

Many thanks David.
James Akers Video shows him adding a paper gasket but I'm not sure that this is necessary as none of the kits seem to have them.

the whole things made of rubber, dont remember a gasket, but now you ave me thinking :o
