Post by T25boy71 »

Hi my sliding door is a poor fit and rough on the rollers.
should the bottom vertical roller be running in a groove/depression or should this be flat ImageImage

the middle hinge is there a kit to overhaul it and a roller kit for top middle and bottom?

lower runner panel is flat originally, deform under weight of door lack of lube, grinding paste action and rust from inside the sill, eventually bearing goes through the floor

Has anyone 'plated' this area with some thin steel as it looks an awkward area to cut out and weld in new steel??

I have plated mine with a piece of flat steel cut off a scrapper and glued/bonded on with tiger seal, it has worked for the last 12 months

I cut a piece of 1.2 stainless steel to fit the flat area in the runner aperture. It took a bit of fiddling but it was worth it. I bonded it into place with ms polymer adhesive. Looks tidy and has made the door action smoother and quieter. Lasted ok for the last 4 years and no sign of wearing out.
