E5 or E10 fuel?

Post by Birdman »

Apologies if this has already been discussed. I
was just after some advice on what fuel to use and if anyone has ran into any problems using the E10 petrol?
I’ve stuck to E5 so far, but I’m wondering if this is really necessary, particularly as it’s more expensive and potentially might not be available out on the road in some petrol stations.

Carry on using E5 unless you have changed the fuel lines to E10 compliant hose.

Thanks for the reply. I did change all the fuel lines around 4/5 years ago, but I’ve no idea if the kit I bought was E10 compliant? I’ll just carry on with the E5 for now.

Four to five years ago ????
I would strongly suggest you carry out a close inspection of the rubber fuel pipes asap and plan on changing them sooner rather than later to e5 comparable ones

Thanks Steve. As you suggested the best thing is to change them all to the new compliant hoses. Am I correct in assuming that the E10 compliant hoses are the only consideration, eg. Once I’ve changed them I’m good to just run it off E10?

I have been running my bus on E10 since it came on sale. Bus is a daily driver. I have had no problems whatsoever.
Except the current price!!
