Piston rings

Hi all,
Help needed,
We have a 1990 T25 1.6TD that needs new piston rings and so far no garage in our local area is willing to take it on, my husband has done quite a bit of work on it ie new turbo etc and has done a compression test, but doesn't feel he is able to do the piston rings on the drive without the tackle he needs. We are in West Yorkshire, any suggestions? We have been looking at replacement engines but most seem to just send it to you?
