Auto box governor seal leak

Hi guys

I have a leak at the governor seal on my 1988 auto gearbox. Question is can I replace it without draining ATF? Many thanks!

I have look in the Bentley manual but still no clue.  Ant ideas to my first question?  Thanks

Go on the Samba forum and search. I seem to remember changing the governor seal involves an awkward spring.
My auto box leaks from governor and both pans and the drive shafts too. Been so since l purchased in 2017. Not enough to worry in my view.
I change both oils every two years. Never needs topping up.
