For reference and worth a read, it suggests that the higher compression ratios of "our" petrol engines should favour compatability with 5-10% of ethanol but the rubber diaphragms in carburettors may suffer a reduced service life.
DJ engines with 10.3 (10.5 allegedly) compression should be happy as larry once fitted with ethanol proof hoses as this value is similar to many late 90's VAG vehicles. Efi pumps may suffer premature internal corrosion of the aluminium casing.

I do wonder how many DJ engines still have the proper pistons in to give that supposed 10.5 compression.

Well mine has , and I’m not sure improper pistons are a good idea !!

I have to ask. What are improper pistons?

Haha,
As I understand the pistons supplied and used in most DJ rebuilds are actually MV pistons to suit the US low compression engines.
