Re: Engine cuts out
Have changed the engine and clutch on the this van a few years ago on the drive at home just thought with my advancing years and the weather I would let someone else have the hassle
If it is a case of an airlock this would also explain the trouble with running on LPG
Which had been running faultlessly for 8years

Re: Engine cuts out
I could be barking up the wrong tree but doesnt LPG use the coolant as a heating element? if that's got an airlock perhaps thats why it's not working?

Re: Engine cuts out
Yes lpg vapouriser is fed hot water off the choke water pipes
So I am hoping that an airlock could be my main problem

Re: Engine cuts out
I guess your best bet it to run the engine to temp and check all hoses. If theres a cold one then you got an airlock somewhere.

Re: Engine cuts out
If your coolant is OK then suppose as they had the engine out it could be an electrical connection thats loose.

Re: Engine cuts out

These are the pics of my wires
Thin red wire to fuel solenoid on carb
Thicker wire with pinkish sleeve to. Manifold heater
All wire in small loom come from black box at the back of the engine wall
All these wires are pos with ignition on
Were do they go I am sure two of them with yellow covers have never been connected Thanks

Re: Engine cuts out
Right spoke to Daidoft1 on phone said it looks like the thin red to solenoid was connected to thick wire which should have been on the manifold heater. So swapped them round
Van was running again got it up to temp choke came off and hot water got to the vapouriser
All working again
So at the moment it looks like a combination of airlock and crossed wires
If this stays ok I will drive over the bridge and give David a big kiss
(This last bit might not happen I had a brief facial on the phone)
