Hi All,
I have a little problem! I have 2 out of 4 gbox mounting bolts not torquing up, they just keep turning.......
Before I drag my ageing backside back underneath to try and resolve it has anyone got a surefire solution?
Is there enough meat on the retaining part on the cross member to helicoil, is it a drill out and rivnut job or a.n.other solution?
Many thanks, great start to the week!

Re: Gearbox front mounting bolts
Are the 2 almost tight enough ? If they are touching the metal then leave it, the welded nuts inside the member have broke free .

Ah! So they are nuts welded to the inside! I will back the bolts out (if they will come out) and check the threads, if not they will be staying!
Also thanks for the air vents last year, I reckon that must have been you!

Re: Gearbox front mounting bolts
My caravelle had rust on the outside near the bolts it had got between the 2 metal parts, to get to it i removed the rear under seat heater and cut open an access hole in the floor , i was surprised to find that there was no factory wax rustproofing in the whole of the crossmember !
