Alternative Steering Wheel

Post by keynsham1 »

I have fitted electric power steering to my van and would now like a slightly smaller steering wheel. Are there any specific VW 'go to' steering wheels that will fit such as Mk1/2 Golf, Jetta etc? Any pictures would be appreciated!

There is a T3 van power steering wheel, looks the same as a later standard wheel but smaller.

Mk2 golf wheels fit but there are several versions apparently. You may need to mod the indacators self cancel on some ( I did ) and some folk think it stops you seeing the clocks and lights , it never bothered me .

the power steering Caravelle wheel is really only very slightly smaller and the over inflated price of them  is daft imho

I've recently fitted a Momo one in mine - its 360mm and i can still see the gauges as i'm a short a*** - i also had to get some brass PCB stand off's so the indicator cancellation works.  I don't currently have power steering but that's on the cards next year:

Just had a squint on eBay and noticed Mk2 Golf wheels are either large spline or small spline. Which will fit a T25?

Sport steering wheel fitted to the Golf, Scirocco and Passat. 380mm dia. and very comfortable.
Only needed to bent the slide contact for the horn a little.

Cobblers recently fitted one from a B2 Passat.

I remember seeing it on this thread

Looks the part but I have no idea if it was a straight swap.  You could always PM. Good to have another option
