Hi there, I am very new to the VW T25 world, have recently purchased an original Westfalia, called Dandelion. she is awesome and I am keen to learn. Gear changes are a nightmare at the moment.
We have been told she’s had a 1.9 engine installed and the gear box is very worn. My mechanic isn’t sure a full gear box recondition will change the driving, is it likely the engine and gear box aren’t compatible? Previous engine was either a 1.6/1.7. Also going up hills isn’t a joy, speed can drop to about 15mph!?
