Silencer identification

Post by maxstu »

I secured this silencer a couple of years ago. Now wondering if it suitable for DG/DJ? It bloomin' heavy that's for sure! Nothing on box. No stamp or markings whatsoever. And funny protector plates not seen by me before. Strange baffles either end. One flange threaded. Other end oval bolt holes.
Not even sure which way round it goes!

So here it is.... your sage like comments please...

it's a late type DG/DJ exhaust, looks like it has been blasted and painted
I think the flange that is threaded is the tailpipe end and the oval slots are the J pipe end you need the cast olive to mate with the J pipe and long 45mm suitable bolts

A should have done a bit more searching myself. Currently ordering some exhaust fittings on Brickwerks and noticed this identical JP mildsteel exhaust. So that has closed that case...
