Want to change original front seats for more modern, more comfortable set (wifes words)
Have been offered pair of BMW seats but turned them down as all position adjustment is by motor.( power + weight)
What seats are a good solution and what alterations were made.
Have looked at wiki, just want to know other alternatives
Any advice will be truly welcome

The ones you have could be early standard seats with small foam base, the later larger foam base are comfortable and a straight swap fit.

Managed to find some early T4 seats. Slight mod had been done by previous owner to get them to slide on original runners. Definite step up in comfort!

I did Range Rover seats last year.
Took a bit of work: got local metal shop to cut off RR runners, and then bolted on universal runners.

They are really comfy though

How much mods needs to be done for that? aside from the seats?

I would go for SAAB seats of the 2nd gen. 900 (94-98) or 1st gen. 9-3 (98-02).

Contact 300CE for details. His camper sports a lovely pair of P38 seats
1998 Volvo leather seats are great value replacements. A small amount of fabrication required though.

Cheers Stu - mine are Scorpio seats and probably the most comfortable seats I’ve sat on.
I got mine with the runners already on so unfortunately can’t advise on how easy they are to convert:

I had a Ford Granada Scorpio some years ago and I agree the seats are amazing! Actually the whole car was brilliant! It even had electric reclining rear seats!!
