Power Whats that?

Hi all

My bus has always had a lack of go! It's an 88 E plate 1.9 it did have an early 1.9 fitted with solex carb, can't remember the number now! (getting old both me and the van)
So we fitted a DG which was supposed to be correct for the year, good comp. new rings etc etc.  tried everything but still no good.
Goes down hills fine though HaHaHa

Revs well in 1st and 2nd but seems to loose all it's built up by the time you get to 3rd and 4th not much between them either?

So I'm thinking maybe is it possible it has the wrong box?

So you had a DF , and you replaced it with a DG , did you swap the inlet manifold and carb off your old engine over , or did it come with the DG carb ect ?

It had the manifold and carb with it. a couple of people looked at the carb but no one seemed to be able to make it run properly
So when I got an email through saying new Brosol carbs were available I bought one it now runs quite well but does have a very slight flat spot but soon overcomes that.

gearbox code is stamped on the almost bottom of the box about 4" below the reverse switch housing, usually ABD or ABB 4 speed for a 1.9DG
