I could be wrong, but are the numbers in a different typeface than the rest of the forum?

I think one thing this can achieve is..
Instead of quoting the whole post with a 'Comment' to indicate you appreciate or just like the view or infornation expressed, a quick 'Like/Love' does much the same without such a heavy overhead and thread length.
I suppose can also be seen as a quick holding response until you can get around to responding fully, if that is your wont or wish.

Will there be a scoring system ? Then those of us who come here for validation can be appropriately validated

I think its a good Idea.
It may serve to underline where the main focus of interest, when discussing event planning. Quick and simple.
Also, as a gauge of interest on posts that readers feel worthy of giving the 'like' when they enjoy the content of a post but feel unqualified to comment, or have benefitted from advice a post has offered.
It may help to encourage them that would otherwise not bother posting, to raise their heads and post.
The big smiles emoji are useful, but the 'Heart' -like button is widely accepted as a sign of interest and a gauge of sentiment.
Although i am someone who likes the telephone over and above a keyboard, its a Thumbs-up for the 'Heart'.
Mmm. . . . . maybe it can also say 'Im feeling a bit to lazy to post, but I like it . . . . in the same way that you can appreciate the humour in a situation with a wry smile.
Good move me thinks

It's a sensitivity button for Millennials, cos they are a bit fragile-like.
