More damn brake woes - hoses this time

As if getting the damn pipes off wasnt difficult enough I am struggling to remove the hose. I have had to destroy the retaining clip and cut the pipe in order to get the brake pipe union/nut off using a pair of grips. This leaves me with just the hose attached to the L shaped bracket. I have looked on t'internet to see how these damn things come off but according to this clip (about 4 minutes in) the hose is supposed to simply drop off when the brake pipe union/nut is removed.

Mine isn't going anywere and certainly won't be dropping off of it's own accord, it doesn't look like it is shaped for a spanner or anything like that.



Any suggestions from you sage folk? Hacksaw springs to mind.

Tried that Steve, am currently having a go at another one to see how that goes, failing that its gonna be a hacksaw job

Dremel a slit down the side and squeeze it up ?
Or cut the rubber pipe off and drill it out through ?

It should just pull out from the bottom, get some grips on it and pull and twist. Maybe a bit of wd4p or something to as looks like it's rusted a bit.

I tried all of that, it may has well been welded on. Used a junior hacksaw in the end and and slapped it about with a hammer and grips - finally off now. Hope the other side is a bit easier than that!!

WD40 is just a water dispelling light lubricant , it is not a penetrating oil ......
